Curb appeal is a term that describes how a house and/or property look from the street. Some real estate agents believe that a buyer's first impression of a house can be as important as the actual walk through.

Often, the removal/addition of a tree or the installation of a new front porch can improve a home's "curb appeal" dramatically. However, curb appeal is often associated with intangibles such as charm, sense, or good feeling about a property. Raising the desirability of a home can be as important a factor in the sale as the price.

It is therefore not unusual for a seller to paint the exterior, update landscaping, re-do front porches and/or walkways in an effort to create a positive first impression or curb appeal for a quick sale.
