It shows the populations for different Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) and Metropolitan Divisions (MDs) for selected years between 2000 and 2006. The percentage change in the right hand column represents the population change in the MSA/MD from 2000 to 2006. Some cities are listed as both an MSA and an MD, because some large MSAs are broken down into smaller MDs.
