    Yes, I agree tangibles like gold and land are the best protection right now during this stock market volatility and economic downturn. Not many people think about land banking, but land is a tangible that gives you a grant deed which cannot be lost in the stock market. If you use a self-directed IRA to purchase the land, you can defer taxes as well. Currently, well chosen land in California is appreciating much higher than residential real estate anywhere.
