    The author of this article appears to be using wave theory (the only way to traack the market)to do his analysis. His overall outlook is correct but his count from aug 2008 to the bottom in march 09 is incorrect. 3 is the shortest wave which is not allowed. He needs to go back and count again. Hint. The 5th wave is truncated. That should help you to back and count correctly
