Why Biodiesel or Biopetroleum from Microalgaes? Why in Dominican Republic?
Worldwide there are many universities researching the production of Biodiesel from microalgae. Many scientific papers and pilot production facilities are sucessful finished. It is judged scientificly beeing in future the best procedure to produce Biodiesel.
Biodiesel Industries, as part of its research at the Naval Base, is developing strains of algae and commercial production technology for growing, harvesting and extracting the oil.
The lowly and simple green algae may soon become the feedstock of choice for biodiesel. These plants have very high oil content and multiply very quickly under the right conditions existing in Dominican Republic.
Microalgae can produce 15 - 30 times more oil per land. From high quality microalgae one can also produce Kerosin. The combination of a lesser land area and further usages of microlagae biodiesel is responible for the larger future potential in comparision to other procedures of biodiesel production.
We offer land very well suitable for the production of microlgae in water basins, supplied with sea water or fresh water. The rich soil of the property is a very good condition for bio waste, which can be used to provide the photo bioreactor of microalgae with carbondioxid.
The tropical climate in Dominican Republic is perfect for a very quick growth of microalgaes and bio waste. The oversea port La Romana can be reached in two hours
