My husband and I are looking for someone with a dream of owning a piece of New Zealand to share our dream. Kevin is a native "Kiwi" and I was born & raised in Oregon. We met in 1993, married in 1997, and moved to New Zealand in 1997 to start a flyfishing guiding business ( www.nzflyfishingguide.com). We have operated this successfully and Kevin guides full time during the fishing season. We are looking to diversify and wondering if there is anyone out there who would like to join with us in purchasing a bit of New Zealand. Neither of us want to live in a town environment and we are looking for a rural opportunity.
We are basically open to all kinds of options. Kevin and I both have farming backgrounds and we would love to join with someone and find a property with fishing, hunting and farming options. There is also the opportunity to raise trees and sell carbon credits as an alternative ‘crop’. However, we would also be open to discussing any other options.
The Central South Island is a great place…close to the ocean, the lakes, and the mountains. We have many boating options (freshwater and ocean). There are a number of ski fields nearby. Outdoor recreation opportunities are endless. We live near Fairlie which is approximately 2 hours from Christchurch, the South Island’s largest city (~350,000) and also an international airport. We are about 3 hours from Dunedin and 4 from Queenstown. The temperatures are similar to those on the 45th parallel in the northern hemishere. ( www.southisland.org.nz or www.mtcooknz.com )
We look forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested in real estate investment in New Zealand.
