Just 15 minutes north of Salinas – with year-round warm weather and low humidity – Ecuador’s Punta Blanca offers stylish, contemporary beach homes at highly affordable prices. With beautiful calm ocean waters, and three miles of sandy beaches, Punta Blanca is a popular and affordable lifestyle destination for expatriates seeking luxury without the high price tag. See the following article from International Living for more on this.

Now, $130,000 might not buy you much near the beach if you’re looking in California. But this house is on Ecuador’s south Pacific coast…where $130,000 is about all you need to get set up near the water.

This house is in Punta Blanca. It’s just over two hours from the international airport at Guayaquil, on a good, paved road. It’s 15 minutes north of Salinas, a growing city with hospitals, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, and nightclubs.

Salinas also has two yacht clubs, and is a starting point for sailors on round-the-world trips. This is a prime spot for deep-sea fishing, too (Ernest Hemingway and Harry Truman fished here). This section of coast has warm weather year-round, with low humidity…perfect beach weather.

Punta Blanca has more than three miles of soft sand beach, washed by the calm, deep-blue ocean. Those calm waters make it a great swimming beach. The town also has a water park, with restaurants, a spa, and a disco. It’s a popular vacation spot for middle-class Ecuadorians, who build spacious homes here. The pace picks up in peak season (December to April), when they come to Punta Blanca to relax, and spend time with family and friends on the beach.

This ocean-view house is incredibly stylish. The centerpiece is the double-height living area, with floor to ceiling windows. This makes the living area feel bright and airy. The open plan living and dining area leads onto a wide terrace with an ocean view. Upstairs, the master bedroom has ocean views. The floors and ceilings are hardwood, along with the doors, windows, and cabinetry.

The 2,000-square-foot home has four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.

Outside, the vaulted living space gives the house a modern, striking look. The home has a swimming pool in the yard. Walk two short blocks, and you’re on the beach. As an added sweetener, most of the furnishing comes with the home, too. See a video of the property here.
