Pinecrest is an Asheville North Carolina bed and breakfast that radiates the elegance, grace, and history of a turn of the century English Tudor style home overlooking an acre of lush grounds and woods. Located in historic Montford District, just miles from Biltmore Estate, Pinecrest is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Richard Sharp Smith, the lead architect for the Biltmore Estate, was commissioned to design this house for Mrs. Alexander Cowley around the turn of the century. Initially the house was an asymmetrical cottage that included only the right turret and a simple entrance. When the sister of Mrs. Cowley moved into the residence in 1907, she requested a bedroom in an identical bayed turret.

While in the planning stages of the left turret, Richard Sharp Smith included the rear "sleeping porch" and redesigned the front porch and entrance. The end product is a symmetrical front facade, something Mr. Smith refused in other Montford designs. The name "Pinecrest" was officially deeded to the house in 1928.

Each of the rooms at the Pinecrest Bed and Breakfast have been separately appointed with exquisite decor to create a comfortable elegant setting. All of the rooms have private en-suite baths, fine linens, a selection of pillows, lush robes, bedside chocolates, fresh flowers, hardwood floors, cable TV, ceiling fans and air conditioning, The Grace Suite is located on the first floor and is equipped with a large walk-in shower and fireplace. The Thomas Wolfe also has a fireplace. Select rooms have King, Queen and Twin beds.
